The comparisons

I'm sitting here at work in Mission Beach, looking out the window at how green and wet it is, of course because its been raining for quite a while now and we are only hours away from terrible flooding. My Mum however is sweltering in mid 40 degrees down in country Victoria and has been for a couple of weeks. River Rat Eco Cruise

Sunday night my Mum and I enjoyed the River Rat Eco Cruise at Mission Beach. It's a lovely cruise along the Hull River looking for crocodiles and putting in a crab net. The really fun part is when it gets dark you get out the spotlight and look along the river bank for the 2 little red lights that are the tell tale sign of a crocodile. Unfortunately the crabs had to go back in as they were undersized but that's okay it was all for fun. We had a lovely picnic at Hull Heads after a short stroll along the beach to look at the islands, you can see the Family Group, Dunk, Bedarra and Hinchinbrook. Just lovely!

Mission Beach

Mission Beach is a haven for backpackers. In Mission Beach backpackers have a chance to chill out between the rowdy nightlife of Cairns and Airlie Beach or can still choose to go hard with world famous white water rafting on the Tully River, skydiving onto the beach, snorkelling or diving the Great Barrier Reef, taking the water taxi to Dunk Island to do a spot of hiking, or heading out for some more nightlife at the local bars and restaurants.

Sea Patrol are back in Mission

It is lovely to have the film crew from Sea Patrol back in Mission Beach. I am lucky enough to work with them while they are here, and I must say one of my favourite things is as you are driving around Mission Beach you can sometimes get a glimpse of the navy boat out at sea, its not a usual sight to see. So welcome back and enjoy your time in our piece of paradise!
