Lacey Creek Walk

There are some fabulous rain forest walks in and around Mission Beach. During the week I went and checked out the Lacey Creek Walk, its an easy 1.2kms through the rain forest. It has a great picnic area, with toilets, BBQ, tables and chairs, and plenty of room for parking. Because we felt we hadn't walked enough we crossed the road ( carefully, looking both ways ) and did a section of the loop that joins the Licuala Fan Palm Walking Track. This is a walk for the keen, it runs from the Mission Beach-Tully Road through to the Mission Beach-El Arish Road, about 8kms. Quite good for the legs with lots of steps going up and down. Didn't see a cassowary but there is always a chance.
