Here I am at work thinking I would be the only one not at the aquatic festival but here I am at the Mission Beach Information Station with a shop full of people. They are happily typing away, maybe even blogging too...so I don't feel so bad, I have company! But hey there is always tomorrow and tonight for that matter to catch up with everyone at the festival. It's never dull in Mission Beach that's for sure!

Mission Beach is one of Queensland, Australia's best kept secrets. Fourteen kilometres of pristine, golden beach backs on to World Heritage listed rainforest. It is a little known fact that Mission Beach is the closest mainland point to the Great Barrier Reef which makes snorkelling and diving trips from here so great - less time travelling = more time in the water.
Mission Beach tours are the envy of many other coastal locations. From here you can be mad and skydive over the Great Barrier Reef, go white water rafting down Grade 3/4 rapids or do something more relaxing but just as energetic in sea kayaking out to the local offshore islands.
Our beach is completely dog-friendly so if your dog is part of your family then bring him too, he'll enjoy running on the beach like the rest of us.
